We need Employment Coordinators:

Our nonprofit helps New Americans including Afghan and Iraq SIV's that supported the US troops. We provide training and job placement in the technology and engineering fields.

The Employment Coordinator Volunteer is responsible for guiding immigrant and refugee/asylee clients to move beyond low-paying jobs and to re-enter their professional careers in the USA. This includes enrollment in training and recertification programs if needed, reviewing resumes for relevance, job matching with our employer connections, and following up. Make a life-changing impact by creating a path toward higher-skilled, higher-paying jobs aligned with their professional and educational experience. This role essentially supports refugees, asylees and immigrants moving to gainful employment in their desired career field. All candidates have full work authorization and legal status here in the US. We address the issue of BrainWaste: 25% - 30% of refugees and immigrants are college-educated professionals, most are relegated to low-paying jobs well below their abilities.

Training will include a deeper understanding of the refugee process of arriving in the US and the various challenges they face to obtaining skilled employment. This job will pay a bonus for any referral fees or employment fees collected from placing a refugee with a Tier 1 Employer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Technology

· Liaise between our IT employers and New Americans to help clients secure appropriate employment.

· Evaluate candidates’ skills to help identify appropriate positions

· Maintain and grow relationships with our existing technology employer recruiters and share candidates for opportunities within their organization

· Develop an individualized career development plan with job seeker (training will be provided)

· Maintain detailed relationship records using Salesforce database.

· Ensure positive candidate experience on all fronts.

Desired Knowledge and Skills

Recruiting Experience strongly desired
Bachelor’s degree in a related field

· Related work experience in social work, recruiting, coaching, workforce, or human resources

· Able to work cross-culturally in a diverse environment.

Must be within the US. This is a non-paid volunteer position.
