LIKE TO PUT THAT KNOWLEDGE TO USE IN A PART-TIME VOLUNTEER POSITION? If
you answered Yes to those questions, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide has an opportunity
for you to serve your community right here in Flagler County.
Tax-Aide is a volunteer organization that provides free income tax
preparation services to local residents, and technology is an essential
part of our structure. We utilize Chromebooks, printers, and a wireless
network to tie it all together. If you have skills in these areas of
technology, and are looking for a way to volunteer in service to your
community, you are encouraged to contact us to learn more about this
opportunity for community service.
The volunteer commitment generally January and the first two weeks of February of each year to prepare, set up and distribute the equipment each tax season, and at the end of the season to collect and prepare the equipment for storage. Th district has 50+ Chromebooks and various printers, routers and hotspots. During the season there are times when the sites will contact you due to technology issues.

The Tax-Aide program is one of these solutions. Tax-Aide offers free personal tax preparation help to people of any age with low to moderate income but with a special focus on those 50 and older. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is a nation-wide service based in Washington DC but with locations throughout the country. We have two locations locally, one in Grass Valley and one in Lake Wildwood, as well as one location in Sierra County at Loyalton. These locations use an all-volunteer staff of client facilitators, tax counselors (preparers), technical coordinators, and administrative coordinators. Our service is completely free and open to people of any age. Volunteers receive hands-on training in tax preparation and are IRS certified. Whether you join us as a volunteer or take advantage of our tax preparation services, you will encounter a friendly, helpful, knowledgable, enthusiastic and highly functioning team of people.
