Does fundraising get your juices going? If so, please consider serving the NAMI Central Middlesex community as a NAMI Walks Assistant Coordinator. You can do the work from home.

Our affiliate often ranks as one of the highest performing fundraisers for the NAMI Walks Massachusetts event, so we know we have a strong Walks Team in place. We want to spread the work out and expand our reach on social media. The strength of our affiliate’s contribution to NAMI Walks MA is the dedicated commitment of NAMI Central Middlesex members but also our focus on hosting and sharing our enthusiasm, and our walk proceeds, with other like-minded mental health support organizations.

If you are a strong communicator, like to motivate others, are adept at social media, and have a desire to support NAMI’s mission, the Walks Assistant role might be an opportunity to join a great team and give back. The tasks to be shared by the individuals on the Walks Team are listed below. The busy time for this team is generally mid-February through the end of May with some effort needed during the months before and after. Just let us know what tasks seem doable on your end.

Maintain and update lists of Walk contacts, Central Middlesex members plus others.

Communicate with the prior year’s team leaders to confirm early team registration & outreach.

Identify, motivate and coach the formation of additional NAMI Central Middlesex teams.

Communicate regularly with contacts and team leaders during the walk cycle.

Expand and coach fundraising via social media.

Contact NAMI Massachusetts to secure a walk day location and table for the Central Middlesex canopy.

Order NAMI Central Middlesex Walk T-shirts.

Book 2-3 buses for the day of the event.

Solicit volunteers to staff the Central Middlesex table on walk day.

Participate in the walk, whether virtual or in person in Boston in May.
