Mission Statement
To restore hope in the lives of child trafficking survivors through access to essential services, compassionate care, and a loving Christian witness.
Description
There are over 10,000 victims of human trafficking in Alabama every year. Of those, an estimated 5,700 are children who will be placed into non-therapeutic care unable to tend to their needs. As a result, more than 80% return to a life of victimization.
Our first mission is to provide essential services to child survivors though access to housing and programs designed to respond to their unique trauma. That is why in 2021 we will be purchasing 73 acres in Columbiana, Alabama to build our state's only Restoration Home. Here, these children will receive the therapeutic services that will allow them to be restored to a life of hope.
Our second objective is to equip communities and foster families to compassionately respond to these survivors and influence identification rates across the board. Since survivor's are under identified to the tune of 85% or more, it is necessary for our training to get into the hands of healthcare professionals, foster care families, transportation professionals, legal professionals, and anyone else who may come into contact with a survivor over the course of their life.
Our third objective is to maintain a positive, loving Christian witness that encourages compassion towards survivors, social workers, and everyone in our community. We affirm that it is the love of Christ and demonstration of the gospel that will bring hope back into the lives of these children and fill the hearts of those who must endure the hardships of caring for these victims.
