Volunteer Drivers - City Youth Matrix places children (pre-school through high school) into extracurricular programs. We provide a Family Liaison to assist the family, pay 95% of fees and provide an interpreter or transportation as needed.
If a child needs a ride to or from his enrichment class or program a Volunteer Driver provides that assistance. The Volunteer Driver picks up and/or drops off the child, along with their parent or guardian.
This could be a one-time assignment or a regular commitment, depending on your availability. Bonus! This volunteer activity can be very time-specific, and offers much reward. Driving the child and parent to and/or from activities offers a time to interact and get to know the family.

Mission Statement
City Youth Matrix helps families with limited resources access a diverse spectrum of extracurricular activities that provide enrichment experiences for their children. By eliminating financial, transportation, and language barriers, City Youth Matrix provides families the opportunities and networks that build a better future for their children.
Description
City Youth Matrix is a public non-profit organization 501(c)(3) that connects at-risk youth to enrichment programs so they can reach their full potential in life.
We remove barriers such as cost, transportation, and registration for any Frederick County enrichment program related to the arts, athletics, music, and STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math).
We aim to empower the parent/guardian to be the greatest advocate for their child.
· Our model relies on other experts to provide the enrichment opportunities while we remove the barriers and we partner with local enrichment program providers, businesses, faith based and civic organizations.
· We cover 95% of the costs to these programs, provide transportation and an interpreter, if needed.
· Currently we provide 35 families and 65 children services to our ongoing enrichment program and will be adding 18 new families in January of 2022.
· We have monthly workshops for our kids and their families and we invite other local non-profit organizations and the children and families they serve to our monthly workshops.
· Our Buckets of Hope project (during Covid-19 lockdown) brought enrichment activities into the homes of more than 2,000 local at-risk youth with the supply of art, music, athletic, STEM, and family activities with the accompanying online videos and lessons.
