The Vernon Area Public Library is looking for a volunteer to assist the Library's Senior Services staff with the delivery of library material. Deliveries are made to senior living facilities within the library district.

Deliveries Are Made:

  • Wednesday mornings
  • 2-4 times monthly
  • 9:20 am - 11:30 pm ( occasionally 12:00 pm )
Volunteer Tasks Include:
  • loading, pushing and pulling library carts with check-out material
  • riding along as a passenger with staff to one or more senior living facilities
  • assisting library staff with the delivery of material to facility staff or to resident rooms
Volunteer Requirements
  • minimum 6 month commitment
  • Volunteer must be available to volunteer per scheduled delivery dates.
  • Volunteer must be able to push and pull fully loaded carts in and out of the library van via a walking ramp. Carts can weigh up to 60 lbs. or more.
  • Volunteer must be able to push and pull carts throughout a senior living facility.
  • It is important that the volunteer be comfortable around a senior population and with senior living facilities.
