Main purpose of job:

You are a talented people leader with deep knowledge of SEO and SEM. You will will contribute heavily to our content creation and broader marketing strategies. This is a great opportunity to be part of our Marketing team with an aim to introduce new strategies and increase engagement on our website.

Position reports to: Head of Marketing & Communications

Position is responsible for: SEO Copywriter / SEO Specialist / Pay-Per-Click Specialist

Main Duties and Objectives:

  • Be the people leader for our SEO & SEM team
  • Define what your team needs and grow your team to meet our core business objectives
  • Grow our organic search presence
  • Develop and implement SEO strategies to increase search engine results, increase conversions on sites and compliment the PPC campaign activities
  • Research keywords to define and influence website structure and use in content / paid ads
  • Advise on the creation of engaging online content generation and the relevance it has to search
  • Monitor and analyse content success vs user interaction on the site and use this to make informed decisions to optimise campaigns, where necessary work with UX and the PPC specialists to determine and optimise engagement / bounce points etc
  • Forecast website growth and ROI for SEO campaigns
  • Collaborate on PPC and SEO campaigns to ensure optimal journey flow on sites
  • Site speed optimisation and health checks - monitoring, adjusting and advising on ways to improve page loading speed and improve general site health
  • Identify initiatives to drive traffic to our websites
  • Keep abreast of new web technologies, digital marketing, SEO and PPC trends (e.g. core google algorithm changes); inform and implement these new technologies to leverage change
  • Proactively take control of your own continued learning by taking advantage of the training and development opportunities within the business, whilst keeping up-to-date with industry trends
  • Proactively support the growth of ADC and our marketing efforts


  1. Deep experience in at least two of the three main areas of SEO: Technical, On-page, Off-page
  2. Proven people management experience
  3. Strong command of web analytics
  4. Ability to analyze data and provide evidence-based recommendations
  5. Attention to detail combined with an ability to see the larger picture of our business objectives
  6. In-depth knowledge of current SEO tools and practices
  7. Proven experience working in PPC/ Search Engine Advertising
  8. Good knowledge of Google Ads, SA360 and Google Analytics

  1. Google Ads certified
  2. Personable, approachable and able to inspire confidence
  3. Flexible and able to adapt to and champion change

African Development Choices (ADC) is a UK-based Social Enterprise on a mission to reduce poverty in Africa by empowering local communities and their leaders to make more informed choices in the management of public resources so that they can independently meet their own needs for essential services. Improving public resources management is key to establishing a sustainable society. And increasing access to essential services, such as clean water and sanitation, is key to fighting poverty because lack of access to essential services is a root cause of poverty.
