Role Summary: Plan and Coordinate Educational Events (Science Day, After-school STEM programs, Classroom Visits)

We're looking for passionate, motivated volunteers who really want to help establish the new Los Angeles Chapter of S.Y.STEM Coalition!

This position will include working closely with Los Angeles volunteers, while networking with other local organizations and STEM professionals. Our organization will work alongside you to help find the best fit for your skills, goals and overall motivation for volunteering!

Responsibility Details:

- Research and select venues
- Reach out to new professional and educational partners
- Work with team members for program operations & event schedule
- Ensure all required materials are available for each event
- Coordinate activities with various teams and partners
- Participation in virtual/in-person STEM events

A little about S.Y.STEM Coalition:

We started 6 years ago in Tucson, AZ. 6 exceptionally talented and motivated people who wanted to give back to the community by helping k-12 students find a passion for STEM. We saw all of the poverty in our city and realized if just one of those kids from that community was able to get a great paying job in STEM, they could not only help themselves but also help their whole family break the cycle of poverty! Now the organization has over 100 volunteers, chapters in 4 different cities and growing! More than anything, being a part of this amazing organization has showed me that you really CAN change the world, one step at a time!
