Helping the Behaviorally Challenging Child in Tustin (HBCC) is a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation. HBCC teaches a revolutionary, evidence-based approach for helping children with behavioral challenges. Through caregiver training, support and referrals to clinical services, we promote the understanding that challenging youth lack the skill, not the will, to behave well - specifically, skills related to problem solving, flexibility and frustration tolerance. Unlike traditional models of behavior management, HBCC teaches an approach that avoids the use of power, control and motivational procedures and instead focuses on teaching neurodiverse and at-risk youth the skills they need to succeed using a relationship-based, trauma-informed paradigm.
We are searching for a kind-hearted person who can help us grow. This position has a wide range of responsibilities including:
- Conducting research to identify community needs and resources
- Posting content to social media
- Composing written communications
- Identifying potential funding partners
- Participating in special projects as needed
While the work can be done remotely, we prefer that this volunteer reside within Orange County, as the job will require familiarity with the geography and resources available in the county.
