Youth Promise volunteers are high school and university students who virtually provide educational services and personalized academic mentorship to under-served youth--such as inner-city youth, youth experiencing homelessness, foster care youth, and youth from low-income households--across the globe, bridging cultures and people. Volunteers can individually tutor a student through 1-on-1 sessions, can teach group classes on a topic of their choice, and/or can lead college/test prep workshops. Opportunities to participate in Public Relations, Social Media, and Interview Groups are available for volunteers. In addition, they can write for the blog and upload youtube videos on lessons. Time commitment is usually around 1-4 hours a week, depending.
