More Than a Bed is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to provide essential items to foster, kinship & adoptive families for the children in their homes because every child deserves to be valued. We have been at our current warehouse since 2017 and we are searching for ongoing help with maintaining the current need.
We are hoping if you're still reading this ad, you might have one weekday morning you can devote to us just before your siesta! We are looking for volunteers on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm. You don't have to volunteer every day, but we would love to have you volunteer on a regular basis.
Do we still have your attention? Perfect! Although this is an unpaid volunteer opportunity, our Executive Director is certain to always have refreshing drinks and snacks on hand in the break room. If you can't stand for the entire shift, we have our own shoe cobblers area where you can sit and STILL impact a child's life.
We are happy to answer any questions you might have about this amazing opportunity.

Description
More Than a Bed was established in September 2014. We are a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization and are a Christian resource center for foster and adoptive families. Our vision is to inspire the community to get involved in the life of a foster child and support the family providing care. To encourage new families to be licensed and existing families to remain licensed with the goal of every child in Pima County and its surrounding areas to have a safe place to call home.
In our 5,000 sq ft warehouse we provide clothing, shoes, bedding, baby items, school items, books, cribs, toys, household items for the families to come in and shop for free for the items they need to provide for the child/children placed in their care. Through grants we purchase items much needed including cribs, twin and toddler beds, bunk beds, diapers and underwear. We believe every child should feel valued, so by helping the families get the essential needs for the children we hope we are accomplishing this.
