Be part of CCRCD's community outreach team and promote the water-related priorities of under-represented and underserved neighborhoods within Bay Point, Pittsburg, and Antioch!
CCRCD is working to fund projects that meet community priorities, including free tap water quality testing for eligible residents.
The Community Water Ambassador will:
* Learn about CCRCD’s East Contra Costa Water Needs Assessment
* Learn about local tap water providers, and the water treatment programs that they implement to meet drinking water safety requirements
* Learn about common tap water quality complaints and tap water testing methods
* Assist CCRCD staff with online or in-person tap water testing information sessions
* Help tap water testing participants fill out a survey which provides context for tap water testing results
The Community Water Ambassador pay rate is $15/hour for up to 4 hours each week. This is a temporary position, November 2021 through February 2022.
Minimum qualifications:
* High school graduate, at least 18 years of age
* Effective communication skills in English; Spanish language skills are a plus
* Basic computer skills, including email, word processing, and internet searches
* Familiarity with the East Contra Costa County communities of Bay Point, Pittsburg, and/or Antioch

Description
California’s 95 non-regulatory Resource Conservation Districts (RCD’s) are as diverse as the California landscape, but all are dedicated to managing soil, water, and air in close coordination with the communities we serve. Contra Costa RCD’s current program areas are Agricultural Working Lands and Watershed Conservation. We work with local partners to creatively address challenges, including sea-level rise, wildland fires, trash and illegal dumping, and invasive plants.
