Intern - Gallery & Exhibitions (in-person/remote hybrid)

We're seeking a volunteer Exhibitions Intern! This position will allow you to learn about what goes into setting up exhibitions of contemporary ceramic artwork. Academic credit available for Tulane University juniors and seniors,* and possible credit available for students at other schools.

Responsibilities

• Unpacking and repacking exhibition artwork with supervisor
• Assisting with exhibition installation
• Taking and editing photographs of exhibition artwork
• Possible required gallery-sitting shifts (if needed to meet hours requirement)

Requirements

• Must be available for all required dates/times listed on the Exhibition Schedule, which will be provided to applicants.
• Must have some prior experience editing digital photos with software like Photoshop, Elements, or Apple Photos (not phone apps)
• Interest or experience in visual arts, ceramics, hands-on work, and/or arts administration is recommended but not required.

Academic Credit Available
This position can be used to satisfy Tulane University's second-tier service learning credit requirement (in conjunction with the Center for Public Service). Interns choosing this option must be current Tulane undergraduates and must coordinate with Tulane and CPS to register for the required corresponding internship seminar class. Please note that internships for academic credit are for the entire semester.
