Position Title: Celebration of Hope Gala Campaign Assistant

Position Classification: Temporary - 20 hours per week starting immediately through the end of March 2022. The pay is $15.00 per hour. There may be an additional opportunity to continue working past March.

Primary Function: Performs diverse projects and activities to support Hope Connections for Cancer Support (HCCS) Annual Gala. Work to be conducted on-site at our Bethesda location. All COVID-19 safety procedures to be followed.

Work Direction: Works under the direct supervision and training of the President & CEO or assigned staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative, secretarial, and clerical support for the Celebration of Hope Gala, and HCCS related special events.
  • Maintains assigned office, program, and event records, files, and databases.
  • Conducts follow-up phone calls and event RSVP calls and maintains tracking documents.
  • Prepares event-related correspondence and reports.
  • Help with the setup, registration area, and takedown at all events.
  • Helps with select ongoing programs and/or special projects (e.g., sponsorship and corporate/foundation prospect identification and cultivation, prize distribution, event press releases, event logistics coordination, etc.)
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Hope Connections' mission and its programs to address them.
  • Willing to run campaign-related errands.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Excellent word processing, Excel, and database management skills.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in business English, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Proficient in basic accounting and bookkeeping skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Knowledge of standard business machines and computers.
  • Professional, maturity and has sound judgment.
