Title: Food Pick-Up Coordinator

Objective: To coordinate the weekly pick-up of donated food from The Salvation Army Warehouse in Greentree to be used in the food programs at the Homewood-Brushton Salvation Army located at 8020 Frankstown Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15221

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate use of Salvation Army vehicle with Corps Commanding Officer
  2. Coordinate pick-up logistics with the warehouse staff
  3. Drive a Salvation Army vehicle to pick up donated food at the warehouse
  4. Unload donations at Corps
  5. Assist with pick-up of other donations throughout the year, if able


Qualifications:

  1. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  2. Dependable
  3. Must have a valid driver’s license and obtain approval to drive a Salvation Army vehicle


Intake and Training:

  1. Complete a Statement of Volunteers form
  2. Complete The Salvation Army’s clearance process, which includes a Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse History Clearance, and child abuse training
  3. On-the-job training will be provided on the first day of volunteering


Time Commitment: Tuesdays from about 11:30 AM to 2 PM
