Our volunteer Events Team helps make these events possible, and as a Production Assistant you’d have a hand in every stage of bringing our extremely popular events (including Granger Leadership Academy/Camp GLA) to life.

  • Ensuring participants have what they need for an event to be accessible to them

  • Researching and recruiting guest speakers

  • Communicating with guest speakers pre and post event

  • Creating materials needed for participants, guests, and staff

  • Working the events themselves, providing technical, organizational, and participant support

  • Brainstorming new event programs

  • Attendance at regular meetings

  • Help with other Fandom Forward projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with events is always great, but not required - we will train you!

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Excellent written communication

  • Excellent time management and timely communication

  • Comfortable communicating in a professional manner with participants, vendors, and guests in both verbal and written communication

  • Able to adapt and problem-solve quickly

  • Able to track multiple projects simultaneously

  • Comfort with basic online technology (i.e. Discord, StreamYard, YouTube, Canva, Google Drive) a plus

Fandom Forward has a strict policy in place for determining when we will return to in-person events. Currently, all events are online-only for the safety of our participants and staff. Opportunities to act as on-site volunteers for in-person events may arise in the future, but are not guaranteed.

To apply, please send a resume and either a cover letter or a deck-style presentation (PDF, Google Slides, Canva, or PowerPoint) to abigail@fandomforward.org. We'll be in touch soon if we wish to set up an interview.
