Success Beyond the Classroom

NCC Student Team Leader

Help 5th and 6th grade students explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) careers at Success Beyond the Classroom’s annual STEMLink event.

As a Team Leader you will work in pairs to guide a group of students for the day. You will escort them to the breakout sessions taught by Normandale Community College faculty and other STEM professionals. Then stay in the breakout sessions to assist presenters and students with the hands-on activities. You are guaranteed to learn something new!

As the school year begins, we are closely monitoring the pandemic and learning how school field trips and extracurriculars are safely taking place. SBC will follow MDH and CDC recommendations that promote health and safety and mitigate the risk of COVID-19 transmission. As events get closer, we will update all participants on specific safety protocols.

About Success Beyond the Classroom

Location:

2 Pine Tree Drive, Suite 101, Arden Hills, MN 55112, US

Mission Statement

To create powerful learning experiences that challenge students to explore interests, discover new perspectives, connect with professionals in the community, and visualize their success beyond the classroom.

Description

Every year Success Beyond the Classroom brings innovative programs, inspiring events, and challenging academic competitions to students in the Twin Cities area. SBC gives students the opportunity to hone their passions and to see that learning in school leads to success outside classroom walls, into the future, for themselves and for the world around them. In 2020-21, we're moving virtual, thus pausing our volunteer needs until we can welcome our favorite "Red Shirt Volunteers" in person next school year!
