Special Olympics Louisiana is searching for a state basketball director for our state basketball tournament. The state basketball tournament will be held Saturday March 12th at Team Automotive Sportsplex in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The basketball director position is a volunteer position in which the individual will oversee and execute responsibilities to the tournament. These responsibilities include
- Positioning and training volunteers day of the event
- Meeting with coaches to discuss logistics of tournament
- Overseeing tournament play including bracketing, making sure sport rules are followed, and resolving issues related to tournament play.
- Coordinating referees throughout tournament play.
- Tournament operations and basketball experience is preferred.
