A little of your spare time could make a huge difference in the lives of your Howard County neighbors in need! If you can offer between 8-12 hours/week then we could use your help. Bridges to Housing Stability is seeking a passionate, caring, dedicated and well-organized individual to join our Volunteer Team as a Volunteer Program Assistant (VPA). This position will be responsible for supporting case managers as they focus on solving homelessness and housing instability in Howard County by providing comprehensive case management and support services to assist individuals and families seeking stable housing. This important volunteer role is responsible for assisting with administrative tasks, such as answering the phones, maintaining case files and updating referral information. The VPA will also interact with clients over the phone while answering questions, performing pre-assessments and making 90-day follow-up phone calls.

Skills Needed

We are seeking an individual who is organized, able to communicate effectively with others, able to work well on a multidisciplinary team and have excellent time management skills. Basic skills using Microsoft Office is preferred. It is imperative that the VPA understand the need to maintain client confidentiality. Once the training period is completed, this position requires the ability to work both independently and as part of the team. A valid driver's license/ID is required.
