Rising Hope, Inc offers a post secondary eduction in ministry and human services to incarcerated men. This is a 2 semester program with classes offered 5 evenings or afternoons per week for 15 weeks. Many of our courses, including Introduction to Hebrew Bible, have been reviewed by the National College Credit Recommendation Service, a division the New York State Education Department. This course has been recommended for 3 credit hours. Our students are well motivated, eager to learn. We have an established curriculum and syllabi for each course which of course can be modified to some degree. Applicants need to have some experience teaching.
We are beginning a new cohort in mid January.
The process of application by the Department of Corrections can take two to three months so please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in joining this challenging and rewarding work.
Our program is open to students of any faith tradition or no faith tradition.
