Sam McDonald is a park with something for everyone; the northern half is a lush redwood forest, while the southern half is predominantly composed of open ridge, grassy knolls and patchy brush areas. Splendid views of the Butano and Skyline Ridges can be seen, as well as the Pacific Ocean. If you'd like to experience this beauty while doing some good, come join us Saturday, February 26th as we remove invasive plant species within this diverse park!

If signing up as a family or a group, please let us know how many will be attending in your party. Groups of eight or larger need to be confirmed at least seven days in advance. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have the Volunteer Agreement signed by a parent or guardian. Youth under 15 are welcome and have to be accompanied by an adult.

A reminder email with more detailed instructions on where to meet will also be sent out a few days prior to the event!

As we will be working with tools and plant species, it is necessary to wear closed-toed shoes, hiking/outdoor clothing you are comfortable with potentially getting dirty, and a personal water bottle. It's also important to check the weather beforehand and bring a rain/warm coat, a hat, and/or sunscreen if necessary! Please note that if weather conditions are too extreme, this event may be canceled; however, we will reach out to let you know if we foresee any potential of this occurring.

We will be following current state protocols in regards to COVID-19 (subject to change by the time of the event). For now, we ask that you consider wearing face masks/coverings when unable to socially distance, and we will also be keeping the event size at a maximum of 15 people, though actual attendance will vary depending on how many people sign up.
