The Phoenix-Austin is the newest chapter in the country. We are seeking a communications intern to work with the local Program Team.
This position will work closely with local program staff to promote programs via media, e-marketing and news, and social media communications. The work will continue to develop and change depending on projects, but the overarching theme is the same and will help with the overall communication development and strategy.
Duties may include:
- Collecting and writing member and volunteer stories for distribution
- Developing monthly newsletter content
- Creating local blog posts
- Creating regular posts for social media accounts (Facebook, LinkedIn)
- Developing new content for social media
- Writing monthly media releases for local distribution

Description
The focus of the Phoenix programs is to build an active community for individuals who are recovering from substance abuse and those who choose to live a sober life. Since 2006, Phoenix has served over 26,000 individuals through 55+ weekly activities and overnight outings across the country. The new Austin chapter currently has 12 weekly activities and monthly special social events.
