URGENT NEED: Boutique Donation Assistants
Home Start is a social services agency dedicated to reducing child abuse and strengthening families in San Diego. We help more than 15,000 clients with services in housing, domestic violence, parenting, behavioral health, emergency assistance, financial counseling and more.
We are looking for volunteers to help us process, maintain, and organize donations made to the Home Start Thrift Boutique. Your role will be to greet customers and meet with merchandise donors by appointment. Upon receiving donations, the Donation Assistant sorts, catalogs, and prepares materials for sale.
- Meeting with merchandise donors by appointment and processing donated items
- Quality reviewing and sorting items for later sale
- Ensuring all items are clean and functional prior to being placed on the sale floor
- Testing electronics, cleaning glassware, steaming clothing
- Sorting and organizing warehouse materials
- Other duties as assigned
Location:3611 Adams Ave, San Diego, CA 92116
Work Schedule: Tuesdays through Saturday from 10am to 6pm
Availability: One day a week within the Boutique's work schedule
Main tasks: Sorting, steaming, testing electronics, cleaning glassware.
