Brighton Hospice is currently looking for volunteers in the Oakland/Macomb/Wayne county areas to spend time with our patients and families. Some of the activities a volunteer may participate in include, but are not limited to: being a comforting and supportive presence, holding a hand, baking treats, listening to cherished memories, giving a hug, being a shoulder to lean on, touching a heart, reminiscing with patients, playing board or card games, running errands or light housekeeping, allowing time for caregivers to take care of themselves, playing music or singing, writing notes or memories for the patient, reading aloud, listening to patient's concerns, communicating needs of the patient/family to hospice staff and so much more!
Upon receiving your completed application, an interview, background check, orientation, webinars/trainings, fingerprint screening and TB test will be required before we can set up visits. Your safety and satisfaction are our greatest concern, and we adhere to all protocols that are necessary for protection and peace of mind.
