PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE) is a charity NGO operating in Fort Portal, Kabarole district, Rwenzori region of Western Uganda advocating for the protection and promotion of children's rights ,youths and women in rural communities.
PLANE focuses on areas of Human rights, education for needy children, health , Gender Based Violence , Domestic Violence, livelihoods, Conflict and peace building, youth and women empowerment, water ,sanitation and hygiene.
We apply the music ,dance and drama approach to sensitize communities on different issues using the radio drama and community outreaches.
PLANE is therefore seeking for a Drama Volunteer who will help mobilize resources and funds to help the group do its work of creating awareness on issues of Domestic Violence, GBV and teenage pregnancy and early marriages during the covid 19 pandemic lock down in Uganda.
The Drama volunteer will lobby partners and support for the drama group to sustain her activities on radio and also reach out communities to spread the message and hope and peace. The drama needs facilitation for auditioning/recording/ transport to the field, costumes and income generating project for sustainability .

PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE) is a charity Non Governmental Organization registered , protecting and promoting the rights of rights of children, youth and women. PLANE operates in Fort Portal City ,Kabarole district, Rwenzori region of Western Uganda . It aims at undertaking collective action for promotion of general health and reproductive health awareness campaigns on Family Planning, HIV/AIDS, Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV),Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHT) and access for social and health services.
Our focus areas include social security, education for needy and orphan children, health, youth and Women Empowerment, Livelihood, Human Rights , Water, Sanitation and hygiene and Environment conservation and protection.
In 2018, PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE) scoped an award from Kabarole District Local Government for out outstanding performance in creating awareness using radio drama and community outreaches to fight Domestic Violence and controlling Malaria infections in the district. This project was implemented in communities and schools in the districts of Kabarole and Bunyangabu. We have also taken a lead in the region in mobilizing resources and launching campaigns for sick people with Heart diseases and multiple organ failures who seek funding for treatment.
