Food distribution is a hands-on volunteer activity. Activities could include assisting with set up (tables, tents, umbrellas), unloading and moving food from pallets to the table and/or cars; sorting and distributing food; and clean up. This is a great chance for volunteers to interface with our local community. This volunteer activity may include some heavy lifting (a minimum of 25lbs.) and regular movement. Bring your water bottle because you may get a good workout!

The volunteer must be willing and able to work with people of different backgrounds and ethnicities, exhibit compassion and sensitivity, maintain strict confidentiality of all member and volunteer information.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 14
  • Occurs on the 3rd Wednesday for Nov and Dec from 4-6pm. Setup food boxes from 4-430pm, distribute 430-530pm then clean up 530-6pm.
  • Be able to lift boxes of food, min is 25lbs. Setup tables, break down boxes, clean up and put excess food away.
