Pikes Peak Children's Museum

Mission: To inspire a lifelong love for learning through play and fun.

Vision: Every child soars to their highest potential in a place full of creativity and connections.

Purpose of Volunteer Position: To build and maintain a comprehensive social media and mass communication plan for outreach and brand awareness.

Number of hours: 2-5 hours per week depending on the time of year. End of year is our busiest time.

Location: Remote and In-Person

Reports to: Board of Directors

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Create a consistent followers base on PPCM social media platforms

  • Develop a replicable social media calendar

  • Coordinate with the Board of Directors on necessary communication

  • Coordinate and design posts for PPCM social media platforms.

    • Share relevant posts, news, events, etc.

  • Respond and engage with followers as needed.

  • Report analytics quarterly to Board of Directors

Volunteer Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • All work can be done remotely

  • If done remotely, Zoom or Google Meets will take place as needed

  • Understand and promote PPCM’s mission

  • Be an ambassador for PPCM

  • Help to educate the community about PPCM

Required Volunteer Qualifications:

  • At least 21 years old

  • Must reside in the Pikes Peak region.

  • Experience with social media and mass communication platforms.

Preparations are in order to celebrate the 20th-year anniversary of the Children’s Museum’s founding. And in honor of this significant milestone, we’re reimagining how Colorado Springs’ first - and only - Children’s Museum can, should, and will, best serve children their families, and our community in a modern, accessible, inviting, inclusive, bold, bright, fun, and playful new way.

We’re filled with enthusiasm and are proud to reintroduce The New Pikes Peak Children’s Museum to our local and regional communities. We invite every friend, every neighbor, and all families to get involved and join the fun, because simply, everyone loves- and benefits from - a Children’s Museum.

We’re preparing a calendar full of unique and enriching experiences, educational collaborations, immersive learning adventures, special fundraising events, and vibrant celebrations, all thoughtfully tailored and carefully crafted to ignite the imaginations of every dreamer, thinker, maker, and doer. Our schedule of upcoming events will be revealed soon. We promise, this year will be one of innovation, engagement, growth, and fun. You won’t want to miss any of the action!
