MercyOne Hospice is seeking individuals to provide companionship to hospice patients. We serve patients in our Inpatient Hospice Facility in Johnston as well as in their homes and nursing faclities within a 50 mile radius of Des Moines. Volunteer Patient Companions typically make routine (weekly or bi-weekly) visits with patients wherever they call home. Companions provide a familiar caring face to those who may be living alone in their homes and add joy to those who have limited family in nursing facilities. If you are interested in enriching the final days of our hospice patients we would love to discuss this opportunity with you!
