Help get newly arrived refugee children enroll for school in Dekalb County! This volunteer will:

  • Assisting with school registration for arriving refugee families
  • Completing online new student registrations
  • Uploading family documentation
  • Transporting families to and from assessment testing location
  • Taking family to assigned schools to complete in-person registration
  • Delivering school supplies to the family


  • Strong computer/technology skills
  • Interest in working with diverse populations
  • Sensitivity to vulnerable populations
  • Excellent spoken English language skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Openness to feedback provided by peers and supervisor(s)
  • Must be flexible
  • Have resources and ability to conduct work remotely (computer, WiFi, etc.)
  • Have reliable transportation and meet insurance coverage minimums (at least $100,000 per person / $300,000 per incident) in order to transport clients
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19


  • Bilingual: Arabic, Dari, or Swahili preferred
