The hospice movement was founded by a dedicated group of volunteers committed to caring for patients at the end of life and supporting their families and friends. Volunteers play an essential role by providing compassionate care to patients and their loved ones, as well as office support to the Reliance Hospice team. We are currently recruiting for a volunteer to help with visits in Desert Hot Springs.

Volunteers are ready and available to offer companionship to patients, relief or respite time to caregivers, help with errands, or be a vigil presence for dying patients. In addition, Volunteers may be available to engage patients in art and music therapy. We also have opportunities as bereavement companions and counselors.

We have two rolling internships as well; a Social Media and Marketing Intern, and an Administrative/Quality Intern. Due to Covid-19, many of our opportunities can be done remotely.

Here’s what to expect when applying to volunteer with us: * Volunteer application * In-person interview * Training (initial and ongoing) * Supervision by the Volunteer Coordinator * Annual and ongoing appreciation and recognition plus an opportunity to grow as a person. We welcome interns and students who need volunteer hours, but we are unable to accommodate court-ordered volunteers.
