Mission Statement

Transitions-Mental Health Association (TMHA) is a non-profit organization serving San Luis Obispo and North Santa Barbara Counties. We are dedicated to eliminating stigma and promoting recovery and wellness for people with mental illness through work, housing, community and family support services.


TMHA designs, develops and operates highly effective mental health programs and services that give opportunities to at-risk youth and disabled adults and seniors. We strive to help our clients be defined by their strengths, gifts and contributions to society, not by their illnesses or difficulties. We have been part of the community since 1954.

  • Weekly check-ins with Community Resources Coordinator and staff meetings with Community Engagement team. • Approximately 3-10 hours per week, depending on volunteer availability and deadlines.
