Looking for volunteers to help patients on our service to have the best quality of life that is possible in their current situation. Hospice Volunteers provide emotional support, socialization, and companionship to our patients. There is not any direct hands on care with the patient. You are there to talk to them, look through old photos, reminisce, and talk about their lives, family, children and grandchild. Assist them in going through their belongings and helping them with getting their affairs in order. Hospice Volunteers many times help with caregiver relief, making small meals, light housekeeping, laundry, writing letters to loved ones, making phone calls, running errands, or anything else that the patient and their family may need of you. You get a tremendous feeling of fulfillment and accomplishment each and every time that you help and patient and their family in need. Volunteers can be assigned to patients within the distance that they feel comfortable traveling from their location. Many volunteer visits range from 30 minutes to as long as you would like. Visits can be made at your discretion, to fit your schedule between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm Monday through Sunday. Volunteers will be subject to a background check and TB test paid for by Kindred before volunteering can begin. If this seems like something that would be a good opportunity for you contact me today!
