Making a difference one life at a time! Elara Caring Hospice is a leading care provider in Missouri and throughout the Midwest, our staff and volunteers work together to meet each patient where they are. We are currently looking for caring and compassionate volunteers to join our team and donate time to assist local hospice patients and families.

As a companionship aid you will have direct contact with patients and their families. Volunteers will build relationships with patients by engaging them in conversation, listening to music, doing crafts, reading, or playing a game together. Sometimes a hand to hold is just enough. Caregivers occasionally need a break, and a volunteer can provide respite to allow the family member to attend to other needs. Hospice care is provided in patient homes, with family members, and in nursing facilities.

Assignments are based on availability of the volunteer. We ask that you set aside 1-2 hours per week for visits. We also have additional opportunities available. For more information, please contact Megan McGowen, Volunteer Coordinator, at 573-301-5055 or mmcgowen@elara.com
