Volunteer Opportunities: We have several opportunities to choose from! We are in need of both virtual and in-person volunteers. Needs are in Disaster, Donor Relations, Business Operations, Public Affairs, Volunteer Services and Service to Armed Forces.

Disaster:

1. Disaster Action Team (DAT): DAT provides 24/7 response to community disasters, particularly house fires. DAT provides immediate funds to those affected so that they can purchase housing, food, and other necessities. DAT also initiates recovery assistance support. This position may appeal to those with flexible schedules, who are committed to being on-call to aid their community at the scene of the disaster. Minimum shift and service length requirements exist. Training time is 10.5 hours to become an active team member. **CRITICAL need for volunteers in Adams county

2. DAT Duty Officer (DDO): This is a behind the scenes, dispatcher-like position. When a community disaster occurs, the DDO deploys on-call DAT members to respond. The DDO serves as the response coordinator, communicating with all parties to execute the response. This position may appeal to those with flexible schedules that want a virtual, high impact position. Minimum shift requirements exist. Training time is 15 hours, which includes the DAT training.

Services to Armed Forces:

3. Reconnection Workshop Facilitators: Workshops are designed to help service members, veterans, their families, and caregivers learn how to cope with military-specific challenges. These discussion-based workshops encourage participants to share their experiences and practice resilience-building activities to help reconnect with family members, work environments and communities. Volunteers must be mental health professionals currently licensed in their specialty area and will be provided training on the course curriculum. Time commitment depends on when workshops are scheduled.

4. SAF Casework: Support the critical community services cases, which includes making follow-up calls to military members and/or families to determine if their needs are met. This is a customer service role and entry level to SAF Casework. As volunteers gain experience, they have opportunity to move into advanced casework roles. This is a virtual position, and can be located anywhere in CO-WY region. Time commitment is 5 hours per week.

5. SAF Engagement Lead: Work with new volunteer team members by conducting department orientation, assisting with required training, providing whatever support is necessary to help them to become fully engaged team members.

Volunteer Services:
