BlackRock Center for the Arts strives to bring inspiring performances and visual art experiences to a diverse audience in the Germantown area. Our volunteers are a major part of bringing this mission to life! Volunteers provide valuable services to BlackRock while enjoying the opportunity to make new friends and taking advantage of special privileges and experiences.

In this role, we ask Volunteers to Welcome patrons, answer questions via telephone, email, and in-person and act as the eyes and ears of the lobby and art galleries.

Volunteers will now enjoy one free performance ticket for every 15 hours of service (pending availability
of seats), complimentary beverages during your shift, participation in volunteer appreciation events, and
additional perks throughout the year.

BlackRock Center for the Arts, the leading venue for the performing and visual arts in Upper Montgomery County, MD, provides the community with the highest level of quality performances, free gallery exhibitions, and arts education classes in a welcoming and intimate setting close to home.

Reaching more than 40,000 people per year, BlackRock presents performances featuring top regional, national, and international touring talent from the worlds of jazz, blues, Celtic, folk, world, and bluegrass, as well as a contemporary theater for audiences of all ages.

Envisioned and established through a grassroots effort, BlackRock has been operating in a beautiful building completed in 2002. We’ve come a long way since then, and the best is yet to come!   • In this role the Volunteer is expected to come to BlackRock one day a week continuously through the year. The shift if from Noon - 4PM. Volunteers are expected to remain for the entire shift.
