Volunteer associates at Flying Pig Thrift help throughout the store, sorting and pricing donations, arranging and re-arranging merchandise and window displays monthly and seasonally, and helping with "light housekeeping" (sweeping, dusting, etc.) to keep the store neat and welcoming. Volunteers get a 25% store discount, "First Look" at unique and interesting donations, and one of The Pig's signature orange t-shirts. Another benefit of volunteering at Flying Pig Thrift is being part of our welcoming and diverse group of Volunteers. Every day at the store is interesting and different than the day before because we never know what the next donation will bring in! We hope you'll check out the store and let us say "Hi" - and then we hope you'll come and volunteer.

Flying Pig Thrift exists to honor the founder's sister Heather Valdez by providing a unique, energizing and downright fun nonprofit thrift store where shoppers can find thrifty treasures while benefiting local nonprofits.
Description
Flying Pig Thrift celebrated its 4th "Piggiversary" in July 2023. The store is a nonprofit in the Midway-Hamline neighborhood of St Paul. The store sells only items that have been donated. This helps keep overhead costs as low as possible. Another way we work on keep overhead costs low is by having only 2 paid part time employees and using Volunteers to staff the store. We would love to have you join us! Volunteers usually sign up for one 4- hour shift per week, and can assist with all aspects of daily store operations, from the cash register, to sorting and stocking donations, to setting up window and merchandise displays -- Volunteers do it all at Flying Pig Thrift!
