Help your community prepare for disasters. The impact of a disaster can be devastating and the American Red Cross is there to help respond. But did you know, it’s also part of our mission to help people prepare? As a Preparedness Volunteer you can help educate individuals, families, and communities on actions to reduce the risk of a disaster and prepare to respond effectively and cope with disasters when they happen.

Volunteers are needed to help support:

  • In-home smoke alarm installation and fire safety education visits.
  • Youth programs delivered to children that provide science-based disaster education and coping skill.
  • Community preparedness education opportunities like Hands-Only CPR or providing disaster education presentations.
