Keep Oakland Beautiful is Recruiting Board Members!

Keep Oakland Beautiful (KOB) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit partner organization that works with the City of Oakland toward supporting a clean, green, and litter free city. Keep Oakland Beautiful is currently recruiting new volunteer Board members to join us. This is the perfect opportunity to get involved and take action in your neighborhood and city! We are seeking new volunteer Board members who can assist us with one or more tasks such as coordination of (probably socially-distanced) clean-up events; fundraising; grant writing; writing and publishing marketing content and newsletters; website maintenance; Google Drive administration; recruiting volunteers for administrative tasks during uncertain times; and bookkeeping/accounting.

If invited to serve on the volunteer Board, you would be expected to contribute 4 to 12 hours per month (level of work intensity varies seasonally) on Board and Committee activities, including fundraising and attending KOB events, for a minimum 2-year commitment. Our Board meets once per month (by video conference until gathering in person is considered safe) and Board committees meet (by phone or video conference) as needed. In exchange, you will earn valuable community organization and non-profit administration experience and will build lasting connections with fellow Oakland residents and City staff.
