Can you donate one hour of your time to help out a senior citizen?
We are located at 728 North Broadway, Escondido. We provide many free services for our senior citizens; this opportunity is for our computer lab.
Tutoring topics include smart phone use, tablet use and computer (PC and Mac).
Subset topics include Microsoft Office, Internet navigation, email, applications, file sharing, etc. Tutoring sessions are one hour long per client and may be repeated weekly as needed.
The Senior Service Council Escondido is a 501C, non-profit organization. Every capacity of our organization is filled with Volunteers. In addition to a computer lab offering tutoring, we have an attorney, tax specialists, and taxi services (to name a few).
The only service that the Center charges for is tutoring service. This $10 fee goes towards keeping the computers up to date and equipment replacement as needed. The volunteer position, tutoring senior citizens at our Escondido location, consists of one hour sessions per "client". These one hour sessions may be repeated as many times as desired by the client.
As a tutor you will be volunteering as much time as you desire, with a minimum of one hour per week.

Mission Statement
The Senior Service Council, Escondido (SSCE) was established as a nonprofit organization over 40 years ago to address the needs of seniors in the community. Our board, together with over 100 volunteers, work to maintain a strong and reliable network which allows us to advocate in the local community and work directly with the people we serve.
Description
Services for the senior community embody our mission. We offer computer classes, federal and state tax preparation, legal assistance, support group meetings, health screenings, and other important services for seniors. All services, except computer classes, are offered free of charge although donations are gratefully accepted.
