We are looking for volunteers to spend time with our hospice patients. Reading out loud to them, paint/do arts and crafts with patients. Be someone to talk to, become a friend give companionship. We're also looking for someone that has a pet for pet therapy (must be certified).
Volunteers offer patients an opportunity to socialize for pleasure and entertainment. Volunteers do not need to be medically trained and do not perform medical or personal care procedures; however, volunteers are able to keep a patient company, play cards/games, accompany patients on a walk, exercise family pets, read, sing, or play music and support a variety of other interests a patient may have. Some volunteers help patients create memory or scrapbooks, record memories, or help organize personal memorabilia or belongings. Hold a hand in a time of need. We have so many lonely elderly patients that need a friend.

Description
Physicians Choice Hospice offers a Volunteer Program to patients and their families as a part of our interdisciplinary care plan. Hospice volunteers are available to patients receiving care at home or in an assisted living/medical facility.
The Volunteer Program is optional and may be used at the discretion of the patient, family, or facility and participation may begin or end at any time during patient care- visitation is flexible. Please see below for more information about this program.
