Do you believe that everyone deserves equitable access to education? Are you interested in education advocacy and news writing? Do you want to make a difference in the lives of the young people in your community? If so, this is the opportunity for you!

Chicago Education Advocacy Cooperative (CHIEAC) is an education non-profit based in Chicago that aims to ensure equitable access to high-quality education for all, regardless of status and identity, through the supply of support services and commitment to proactive advocacy.

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers with an interest in education advocacy and writing to write for our blog. You would be responsible writing a minimum of ONE article a week. Articles can be on any education-related topic, for example education reform, advocacy, and tips and tricks for students entering or planning to enter college, college life, etc. We expect that all contributions meet the following criteria:

1. Use of cited material from reputable sources to support any factual claims linked directly in the text
2. 350-500 words in length maximum written in a Google Document and shared with Benjamin Drury
3. Feel free to use first-person narrative (e.g., "I" and "me") to tell the story you feel is important
4. Include pictures and graphs and videos as necessary and relevant
5. Include 5 keywords for SEO purposes

If interested, send a current resume and PDF writing sample to Benjamin Drury (benjamin@chieac.org). If you have any questions, comments, or otherwise curiosities related to the role, please also feel free to contact Benjamin. He is always happy to help.
