Struggling readers find it difficult to access grade-level reading in all subjects. Many English learners have not been exposed to enough English due to social isolation from a year of distance learning. We need volunteers to help students as reading tutors in foundational literacy skills.
2 Shifts

09:00 AM to 03:30 PM
Flexible shifts arranged anytime during school hours 9AM to 3:30PM.

03:30 PM to 05:30 PM
After school tutoring shift: Tues, Weds, Thurs.

Description
Greenfield Middle School serves over 570 students in grades 6-8. Eighty-five percent of Greenfield students are socioeconomically disadvantaged, 31% are Engish learners and 67% are minorities. Our students include recent immigrants and refugees.
Our goals this year are:
1. All students will engage in a modern curriculum that will prepare them for the World of Work, based on their strengths, interests, and values.
2. All students, staff, and families feel safe, empowered, and respected.
3. All students will excel in reading writing, speaking, and mathematics.
To help meet goal #3, Greenfield middle school is implementing a new reading intervention program to help students in foundational reading skills.
