Alzheimer's Association Mission: To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research.

Our Vision: A world without Alzheimer's disease.

We are looking for passionate fitness enthusiasts to serve as Athletic Event Ambassadors on our Planning Committee for The Longest Day (TLD), our annual "do-it-yourself" fundraising program! Shine a light with us to fight the darkness of Alzheimer's and all other dementia.

The Longest Day is the day with the most light - the summer solstice. On June 21, thousands of participants from across the world come together to fight the darkness of Alzheimer's through an activity of their choice. Together, they use their creativity and passion to raise funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Can you spare a few hours a month to help ENDALZ? Have fun and help plan and grow the Longest Day- the Alzheimer's Association's fastest growing event, across South Carolina. Are you a leader in your SC town, company, or club? Do you love to play a racquet sport, golf, paddle or hike? Turn your passion to #ENDALZ into purpose. A little of your time can go a long way toward a cure!

This volunteer's role for TLD focuses on helping market the event in their community to other potential golfers, racquetball players, recreational paddle and hiking communities, fitness centers and yoga enthusiasts and all types of athletic sports.

Ideal volunteers would have some of these traits: Enjoy connecting with people, passionate about ending Alzheimer's, enthusiastic, creative, comfortable talking on the phone and a willingness to participate in or co-host events. South Carolina residents only.

Monthly commitment: Approximately 4-5 hours per month. This will vary depending on the month. Volunteers will also attend attending monthly virtual committee meetings. Your Alzheimer's Association staff partner supports you throughout the program and is very flexible and happy to tailor your volunteer experience around your interests and schedule. While TLD is on June 21st, we like working with volunteers year round.

See how you can help. Please email tldsc@alz.org
