The John Wornall and Alexander Majors Historic Houses are ecstatic to announce the relaunch of our youth volunteer program. Beginning January 2022 Wornall/Majors will once again host junior volunteers. From serving as junior counselors at summer camp to helping events run smoothly, there will be opportunities for students throughout the year. Joining the program will be a great opportunity for students to learn about history, serve their community, and gain community service hours.
Guardians/students will sign through an online form. Throughout the year, emails with service opportunities will be sent out. Each will include dates, duties, and suggested minimum age. Volunteers can respond via email to sign for the opportunities.

Mission Statement
The Mission of the Wornall/Majors House Museums is to engage the community by bringing history to life through hands-on, innovative programs and experiences.
Description
Built in 1858, the John Wornall House Museum is a restored Greek Revival home furnished with period antiques. Built As the family home of John and Eliza Wornall, the house played a crucial role in the 1864 Battle of Westport. The Wornall House is a treasure from the days of early Kansas City, and is a valuable educational tool for all ages. On our tours, visitors from around the metro and across the country learn about the frontier experience, the Border Wars, and the American Civil War in an immersive environment.
We invite you to join us in sharing our story, preserving our structure, and raising our visibility in the community.
