ACCEPTING NEW MEMBERS:
Ever wondered what it's like to train a K9 for search and rescue? Do you have a strong drive to help your community? Do you like adventure or enjoy the great outdoors? Search & Rescue might be for you...

The team is currently accepting new K9 handlers and ground support members, you do not have to have a dog to join us. If you are interested in getting more information, just send us a message or email us at northerntierk9@gmail.com.

Individuals who are highly motivated, love dogs and have free time to dedicate to training will find this a very rewarding opportunity. All activities are 100% volunteer driven. For active membership, it’s best if you live within an hour of Morris, Pa 16938. We train rain or shine and travel to different locations each week.

The team strives to train and certify K9s to find missing and lost individuals.

Description

Our goal is to provide K9 units and ground support in search and recovery efforts for lost and missing individuals, supporting local first responders to maximize search and rescue capabilities throughout Pennsylvania.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Background Check
  • Orientation or Training
  • K9 handlers will need a larger portion of dedicated hours for training at scheduled unit trainings and at home. It takes approximately 2000 hours to train a dog up to certification.
  • Application process includes an initial/one-time membership fee of $50. The team covers insurance while training and at events, plus some additional team related benefits. Pro discounts for outdoor supplies and related apparel and more.
