The Twin Pines Senior & Community Center has a Federally-funded Lunch Program that provides nutritious and delicious meals to seniors who sometimes don't have the ability, the desire, or the means to cook for themselves, or simply want to get out and talk to people. As of September 6th, we have opened up more of our facility to additional activities and services to facilitate a more welcoming and exciting atmosphere.

We serve around 40-60 meals per Lunch day. Lunch Hosts help carry out this mission by ensuring everybody gets an equal and fair opportunity to partake in the Lunch Program.

We are currently in need of 1 volunteer to come in on Thursdays, from 11:15am - 12:30pm!

Seniors who have signed up for the daily meal are scheduled to come pick up a lunch bag from inside the Center and have to option eat-in or take-out. The Volunteer is in charge of checking the sign-up sheet to make sure the person is on the list and take in cash donations for the meal. The volunteer will need people skills, be welcoming and friendly to both regulars and new participants who might not be familiar with the process, give occasional gentle reminders, as well as educating new persons who might qualify for the program.

Basic math skills and problem-solving skills are needed. Fluency in a second language is a plus! (especially Mandarin/Cantonese, Spanish)

Masks are recommended to all who enter the facility, particularly the unvaccinated. The volunteer can have the option of sitting or standing.

This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity, but understand life happens, and we try to be flexible to account for sick days, vacation trips, etc.

Hope you join us!
