POWERFUL TOOLS FOR CAREGIVERS
Have you ever thought about becoming a Powerful Tools Class Leader?
Aging Strong is offering a Powerful Tools Class Leader Certification Class via Zoom***.
The Aging Strong Program is looking for a few volunteer leaders to join our team! Volunteers receive a small stipend for teaching classes, and we pay all leader certification fees!
This is an opportunity for the Treasure Valley of Idaho and surrounding rural areas only!
As a Powerful Tools Class Leader, you will help caregivers:
Reduce stress
Improve self-confidence
Balance their life
Better communicate their feelings
Make tough decisions
Locate helpful resources
What does the training program include?
-Scripted curriculum, video and audio resources
-A copy of the Caregiver Helpbook, companion book to the class
-Leader certification fee
-Networking connections with other trained Class Leaders
-Intensive and interactive training provided by a team of certified Master Trainers

Aging Strong Programs are housed under Jannus Inc, a non-profit health and human services organization helping individuals, families and communities in transition. Jannus changes lives through caring volunteers and a portfolio of diverse programs that promote health, advance policy and create opportunity.
Description
Aging Strong Programs provide volunteer opportunities through the Legacy Corps program as well as the Foster Grandparent program. Legacy Corps is a volunteer-powered program supporting family caregivers and older adults with an emphasis on the unique needs of veteran and military families. Highly trained, vetted and committed volunteers provide companionship respite each week. The Foster Grandparent program brings multi-generational learning to local classrooms. 55 + adult volunteers provide tutoring and mentoring, in person or online! Both of these volunteer opportunities are provided through the Aging Strong Program.

- Orientation or Training
- PTC certification requires 2 classes be taught in the first year. To become a Master Trainer 4 classes are to be completed in the first year.
- All days and hours of class must be attended to become certified. Cell phones cannot be used to attend the Zoom training. A short informational class will be set up after application is received to go over class information and computer settings.
