If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity that’s challenging and rewarding, this is the position for you! Join our team as Volunteer Manager and help grow and manage our exceptional team of committed volunteer staff so we can ensure people with Asperger’s/Autism Spectrum Disorder -Level1 and their families continue to get the FREE help they need!


Responsibilities

  • Conduct continuous evaluation of the programs and services delivered by the volunteers and identify/implement improvements as necessary.
  • Keep volunteers properly informed about the organization and their duties.
  • Research, develop and enforce volunteer policies and procedures.
  • Host regular volunteer engagement activities.
  • Identify, address, document and resolve volunteer questions and complaints or refer resolutions to the Executive Director when appropriate.
  • Develop and conduct regular evaluations to assess volunteer performance and to ensure services provided by volunteers are meeting established objectives and outcomes.
  • Assist Executive Director on projects, and on managing a system of volunteer benefits and recognition program
  • Assign ad hoc responsibilities to volunteers
  • Develop, monitor and maintain protocols for recruiting, interviewing, orienting, and onboarding volunteers
  • Oversee, coach and support all volunteers throughout their tenure to ensure confidence in their roles and connectedness with the community.
  • Develop and implement volunteer succession-planning strategies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two to four years of demonstrated experience in managing and leading people in a non-profit or charitable organization, most preferably as a Volunteer or Project Manager
  • Proven track record on delivering results, and the ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment while effectively managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity and cope with limited resources, seize opportunities and think creatively
  • Ability to effectively lead, influence and motivate others;
  • A decisive and goal-oriented individual with strong cultural sensitivity and a non-judgmental approach
  • Strong problem solving skills to address and overcome current and future challenges;
  • Attention to details and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in word processing, database management, and spreadsheet applications
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions

Technology Capabilities Requirement : Remote access ability. You will be required to use your own computer/laptop and will be given access to an ASO Gmail account that you will use to conduct all ASO - related correspondence. You must be familiar with online web-conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom / Google Meet).


Time commitment: about 10 hours/per week (remote)


Screening Requirements : Resume, Interview, Reference Check


Duration: Ongoing for ideally a minimum of 6 month duration. A reference letter could be provided upon completion of a 6 month commitment.


The ASO is a small charity with a big heart! We don’t receive any government funding and rely on volunteers like YOU to carry out our mission. We operate virtually so that we can direct our money to where it’s best used - providing help to those who need it! All of our services are offered FREE of charge.
