Do you have bookkeeping or accounting skills? Do you have a few hours per week to donate to the New Hampshire Chapter? Our current treasurer will be transitioning out of treasurer duties by the end of 2021, and we’re looking for a replacement.
Duties include depositing donations and paying bills, keeping Chapter books in a digital accounting system, balancing the Chapter bank register, and reconciliation at the end of the month. Once per year, the treasurer works with the Finance Department at Sierra Club National to help prepare annual financial reports. The treasurer also assists the Chapter Director with fundraising mailings to members in March and year-end appeal letters. Internal record keeping and QuickBooks are the main formats at this time. Expect 3 to 10 hours a month depending on the time of year.
The Chapter office is in Concord but this position can be filled remotely with occasional visits to the office, as needed. We would like this volunteer to be located within New Hampshire. We are looking for someone skilled in online communications, financing and the love of the outdoors. Interviews will be conducted for this position.

About New Hampshire Sierra Club
Location:
40 North Main Street, Concord, NH 03301, US
Mission Statement
To explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth; To practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources; To educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.
Description
There is nothing inevitable about the future of our environment. A poisoned stream can get worse, stay the same, or get better; it depends largely on what we choose to do. It is this simple belief, backed by a deep history of effort and results, which drives the New Hampshire chapter of the Sierra Club. This is why the Aspen Institute named the Sierra Club "the most influential environmental organization," and it's why our members possess the unique ability to empower people and influence public policy through activism, public education, lobbying, and litigation.
The New Hampshire chapter, founded in 1992, consists of over 5,500 member-activists, and is based in Concord, New Hampshire.
