Kindrerd Hospice Oak Brook

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 15 people are interested

Kindred Hospice is looking for people who would like to go into nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities, and/or memory care centers (all around Chicago) to sit with our patients and be a friend. You can sit and talk, play games, watch TV/movies, color, play cards, read aloud, do word searches or crossword puzzles, play music, look at photos, go outside (if it's nice), cruise around the facility, or any other kind of meaningful activity you think your patient might enjoy.

For your first you will be accompanied by the volunteer coordinator who will make the introduction and show you everything you need to know. Kindred will provide PPE to protect you from COVID-19. You will NEVER EVER see patients who are positive for COVID-19 or any other infectious disease.

As a volunteer you are an important part of the team! We will train you and provide ongoing training so you can learn new skills. We want this to be an experience that is beneficial to both you and the patient so that everyone's needs are met.

We will work with your schedule. You decide your start/end times according to what is best for you.
